I have worked for BTPS in Marwayne for over 10 years.  I am the Learning Commons Facilitator/Librarian, a role I take very seriously.  I combine my passion for books in a media driven environment with keeping up with the current library trends and my love of students of all ages.  I enjoy reading to classes from Kindergarten to Grade 5 during their library class time.  Having said that, the definition of a library has expanded over the years.  We have become a place for all from young to old, to go to and access not just books but for all to come to collaborate, create, and obtain new forms of knowledge.  Libraries are becoming physical spaces for virtual and hands on learning hubs, to collaborate and learn.  We have incorporated makerspace resources to be accessible and flexible to meet the needs of multiple groups and types of users, often at the same time.

Our school library is very fortunate as we are also part of the Northern Lights Library System.  In other words, we are also a public library housed within the school. We have access to library materials and online resources from all over Alberta, and Canada.  We bring knowledge and enjoyment not only to our students but to all county residents, which in turn creates and enhances our community spirit.

On a personal note, in my spare time I love to read, cross-country ski, attend art classes, travel, and spend leisure summers sipping cold beverages on my dock at the lake.
